Claimants do not have to pay the lawyers, or anyone else, to be a part of this lawsuit or to receive payment in the Settlement.
The lawyers will be paid by Canada, separate and apart from the Settlement. These fees will not be taken from the Settlement, or from any payments to be made to Class Members. The settlement funds ($20 billion) have been set aside for the class only and will not impact any compensation Claimants will receive.
